About

Brandon was born to sing. “Music” was his fourth word. Having grown up in choral ensembles, he has learned the choir musician’s craft, but singing is also his favorite activity. His dream job is to sing all day.

Born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Brandon began singing with the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir under the direction of Julia J. White at age 8. He was twice selected for the Virginia State and State Honors Choirs and studied voice under Dr. Jesse Hopkins at Bridgewater College.

Brandon serves as the tenor cantor at Truro Church in Fairfax, Virginia. He has sung at the Organization of American States and performed with the Washington Men’s Camerata.Back to Top

“Brandon has a beautiful gift, a heavenly voice. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Brandon sing the Ave Maria at our wedding in August 2010. I distinctly remember his voice drifting down from the balcony and wafting over us as we received communion. It filled that stone chapel with such warmth by its smooth tone.

“He is a consummate professional. The pianist at my wedding could not meet to rehearse with Brandon until one hour before the ceremony, but I didn’t worry because Brandon knows his craft, and I trusted that he would be ready. To my delight, he performed effortlessly, as always. People have told me that listening to him sing that song gave them chills, and others tears.

“I have also had the pleasure of hearing Brandon sing regularly and serve as cantor at Truro Church. His clear tenor voice is such a blessing to hear each week and is truly an asset to the church’s choir. What better to get one in the spirit of worship than an angelic voice accompanying the hymns and liturgy?

“If you’ll indulge me, I will boast about him yet more. For his talents extend beyond his God-given vocals. Brandon is also a stellar pianist. He led worship music for a fellowship in which we participated, and I can tell you without equivocation that he could play anything put before him and knew most of the songs from memory. He could even transpose the entire song into a different key in his head if the original did not suit the vocal range of the singers.

“Specific performances of Brandon’s that I have experienced have stuck with me for years. Whatever the occasion, Brandon has never failed to impress me. He is a master of his discipline. I don’t know anyone with more of a passion and joy in music than Brandon. If I were to compare his talent to anyone well-known, I would say the timbre of his voice resembles that of Josh Groban. Like Groban, Brandon’s sound is so full and rich that it completely envelops the listener. I can commend Brandon to you with the highest enthusiasm and the firmest confidence in his abilities.”
